Bose introduced Ultra Open Earbuds on 15 February 2024. Unlike an in-ear noise-cancelling design, the cuff-shaped wearable attaches to the side of the ear and leaves the ear canal unobstructed, allowing music and environmental awareness to coexist.
OpenAudio combines the driver with a controlled acoustic structure to direct sound towards the ear with limited leakage. Bose Immersive Audio adds Still and Motion modes, while the flexible silicone-coated arm supports a light, stable fit.
Physical buttons and optional automatic volume support everyday use. This is an open-ear product, not a replacement for hearing protection or a closed noise-cancelling earbud; the original model and later generations should be identified separately.
